Understand your surgery
Your surgery will usually involve the removal of a diseased intestine and / or rectum. Surgery will be performed through either:
• Your doctors may have advised you to bring a stoma bag to dispose feces after surgery. Your stoma may be permanent or temporary. You should also see a stoma specialist to discuss how to take care of a stoma after your surgery.
